Hi all. Havent been on for a while but so good to know when you need to ask a question that answers are so readily given from people who are going through the same things. I take 40mg Humira by injection every 2 weeks. Things going ok but consultant has decided to give me methotrexate as well. Only problem is I cant take it oraly so was wondering if anyone takes methotrexate any other way. I was thinking along the same lines as I take the Humira which is pre filled pen.. If anyone has been on this method would you be kind enough to let me know how you got on as well as how you take it... Many Thanks Chris

Hi Chris,
I'm on humira and oral mtx but I know quite a few people take mtx by injection, I'm sure someone will see your post .
I'm not sure if you can get mtx in the pen, I think it's just syringes but you should soon learn how to use them.
Glad you're doing ok on humira.

Hi Doreen. Thanks for replying. Lets hope the nurses have to do those type of injections cos I dont think I could. I manage the humira pen filled injections fine but the thought of the others ....well!!!!!How are you doing with humira. Is it working for you? Ive been on it since july 09.

Hi Chris,
I am doing quite well on Humira thanks.
I take 15mg mtx a week as well, they do say humira works better with some mtx added.
I've had humira in pen and syringe form and to be honest I prefer the syringe, I feel to have more control.
I didn't ever think I would be able to inject myself (even though I'm a nurse) but when the time comes you just get on with it, I quite surprised myself.
Good luck with the mtx, I'm sure you'll manage the injections.

Doreen xx
